Where Australians play Chicken Road

We list a casino here only after three checks from an Australian connection: the game is in the lobby, PayID works both ways, and a small withdrawal of ours has actually landed. None has passed yet, so the board shows the checks instead of names.

How a round of Chicken Road pays

The screen is a road seen from the footpath. Your hen stands on the near kerb, a manhole cover marks each lane, and every cover carries a multiplier. You set a stake, pick a difficulty, and press Play. Each press of the button moves the hen one lane forward. If a car hits her, the stake is gone. If she reaches the cover, your stake is now worth the multiplier on it, and a cash-out button lets you stop right there.

That is the whole game. There are no symbols, no bonus rounds and no side bets. What changes between rounds is only how far you choose to go.

On Medium, which the demo opens on, the first six covers read 1.12×, 1.28×, 1.47×, 1.70×, 1.98× and 2.33×. A $5 stake cashed out on lane three pays $7.35. The same $5 cashed out on lane 22, the far kerb, would pay $8,944, and the demo would cap it at its $10,000 maximum win only from a larger stake. The figures are from the tables inside the provider's own demo, opened on 29 September 2026; the whole set is on the difficulty levels page.

Two things the screen doesn't tell you. First, the hen's death isn't decided lane by lane while you watch; the round's outcome comes from a server seed and your first three bets, which is what the provably fair panel shows. Second, the game rules panel in the demo lists a minimum stake of $0.01, a maximum of $150 and a maximum win of $10,000, all in US dollars, and every casino sets its own numbers on top of that.

Chicken Road demo start screen on Medium: the hen on the kerb and manhole covers reading 1.12x to 4.03x across the road
The provider's demo on Medium, captured 29 September 2026 (from a Canadian connection). The covers show the first nine of 22 lanes.

The odds behind the lanes

InOut doesn't publish a collision chance per lane, but the pay table gives it away once you know the RTP. A fair game that returns 98% pays each lane at 0.98 divided by the chance of getting there. Turn that around and the chance of reaching a lane is 0.98 divided by its multiplier.

DifficultyLanesReach lane 1Reach lane 6Reach the far kerb
Easy2495% (1.03×)76% (1.29×)5.0% (19.44×)
Medium2288% (1.12×)42% (2.33×)0.055% (1,788.80×)
Hard2080% (1.23×)22% (4.49×)0.0024% (41,321.43×)
Hardcore1560% (1.63×)3.3% (30.12×)1 in 2.6 million (2,542,251.93×)

Read the table as a model, not as the provider's word: it assumes the game pays exactly its stated RTP on every lane, which is what a provably fair setup is meant to deliver. The lane calculator does the same sum for any lane, any level and any of the three RTP settings.

The number that matters for your bankroll is the one that doesn't change: at 98% every lane returns $0.98 per $1 staked on average. Cashing out early doesn't make the game cheaper, it makes it smoother. Cashing out late doesn't make it more generous, it makes it lumpier. The cash-out page works through what that means for a $20 session.

RTP, the three tables and max win

The provider's page says 98%. The demo's code says three things: 98%, 97% and 92%, each with its own full set of multipliers. The casino that runs the game picks one, and the picture on screen is the same for all three. You can tell them apart only by reading the covers. On Easy, lane six pays 1.29× at 98%, 1.28× at 97%; on Medium, lane three pays 1.47× at 98% and 1.46× at 97%; on the 92% table lane one pays only 1.04× on Medium and 0.95× on Easy, less than your stake, while its far kerb pays more than the 98% table's. A single cover doesn't tell you which table you're on; the first three do. The difficulty page has all three tables side by side.

Max win in the demo is US$10,000 per round regardless of level. That cap sits well below the top of every table except Easy, so on Hard and Hardcore the last few lanes are mostly theoretical unless the casino raises the limit and you stake cents.

Playing it free

InOut runs a demo of the game on its own site, with play money and every panel open: rules, provably fair, bet history. It is the version every number on this site comes from. Where it lives, how it differs from the money version and what to watch for is on the demo page. If you've never played a crash game, start there and cross the road on Easy until the covers stop surprising you.

Real money from Australia

Here is the part I haven't finished. Under the Interactive Gambling Act 2001, online casino games can't be offered to people in Australia, and InOut lists Australia among its restricted countries. The casinos that show Chicken Road to Australian players are offshore, licensed elsewhere according to their own footers or not at all.

Before a casino appears on this page it has to pass three checks from an Australian connection: the real InOut game in its lobby, PayID in and out with the minimums on screen, and a withdrawal of mine that actually arrived, timed in business days. Nothing has passed yet, so the board above shows the checks rather than names. The real-money page explains each check, what the law means for you as a player, and why the "Chicken Road" apps in the Play Store are a different problem altogether. If you already suspect the version you've seen isn't the real one, read is Chicken Road legit? first.

Chicken Road has a sequel in search results and in app stores, but not on the provider's own site as of 29 September 2026. What I found is on the Chicken Road 2 page. And if you came here for the arcade chicken, the one that dodges cars for points, the crossing games page covers Crossy Road and its relatives.

Pros

  • The whole pay table is visible in the game, lane by lane, before you stake a cent
  • You decide when to stop: after lane one on Easy you are already ahead by 3%
  • Stakes in the demo start at US$0.01, so a $5 budget covers hundreds of rounds
  • A provably fair panel lets you check any round against the published seed

Cons

  • The provider itself lists Australia as a restricted country, so lobbies that show it to you are working around their own supplier's rule
  • Online casinos are not licensed in Australia; there is no local regulator to complain to
  • The 98% is the provider's setting; a casino can run the 97% or 92% table and the game will look identical
  • Store apps called "Chicken Road" are not from InOut; the real game only runs inside a casino lobby or the provider's demo

My verdict

Chicken Road is one of the more transparent crash games I've opened: every multiplier is on the screen and the maths behind them checks out against the RTP. What you can't get from the screen is who runs it well in Australia, and that's the part I haven't finished. Play the free demo until you can read a lane table without looking, then read the real-money page for what a casino has to pass before I'll put its name here.

Questions people ask

What is Chicken Road?
A crash-style casino game by InOut Games, released on 4 April 2024. A hen crosses a road one lane at a time; each lane has a fixed multiplier, and you can cash out after any lane or keep going and risk being hit. Four difficulty levels change the number of lanes and how fast the multipliers climb.
What is the RTP of Chicken Road?
98% according to the provider's game page. The demo's code also contains tables for 97% and 92%, which means the casino running the game chooses which one you get. The pay table on screen tells you which: on Medium, lane one pays 1.12× at 98% and 97%, but lane three pays 1.47× at 98% and 1.46× at 97%.
Is Chicken Road available in Australia?
Online casino games can't be offered to people in Australia under the Interactive Gambling Act 2001, and InOut lists Australia among its restricted countries. Some offshore casinos still show the game to Australian players. The player isn't the one penalised under the Act, but there is also no Australian licence or regulator behind any of those casinos.
Is there a Chicken Road app?
Not from InOut. A Google Play search for "chicken road" with the store set to Australia on 29 September 2026 returned a dozen apps with that name from unrelated publishers, none of them the studio. The real game runs in the browser, inside a casino lobby or the provider's demo. Details are on the app page.
What is the biggest win in Chicken Road?
The Hardcore table tops out at 2,542,251.93× on the 15th lane at 98% RTP, and the demo caps a single win at US$10,000. Each casino sets its own maximum. The modelled chance of crossing all 15 Hardcore lanes is about 1 in 2.6 million.
Which difficulty is best?
None pays more on average. At 98% RTP every lane on every level returns the same $0.98 per $1 staked over time; the levels differ only in how often you get paid and how big the payment is. Easy pays small and often, Hardcore pays huge and almost never.
